Customs Conference: “Criminal Liability of Business Owners in Customs Matters” – June 9, 2020

On June 9, 2021 , Gaspard de BELLESCIZE gave a presentation to members of a professional business association on “the criminal liability of business owners in customs matters.”

 

This is an opportunity to review the distinctive features of customs law, which is exceptional in many respects and inherently criminal in nature. We have outlined the key stages of the customs inspection process, including the voluntary interview, and then detailed the specific aspects of customs litigation, as well as the numerous exceptions to traditional criminal law that apply in customs law.
